Trae Young Leads Hawks Past Raptors, Ends Five-Game Skid

The Atlanta Hawks snapped their five-game losing streak in style, defeating the Toronto Raptors 125-104 on Friday night. Trae Young led the charge for the Hawks, scoring 38 points and dishing out 11 assists.

Young's shooting was on point, as he made seven three-pointers to help his team pull away from the Raptors. The Hawks' offense was aided by their strong rebounding performance, grabbing 55 rebounds compared to Toronto's 32.

Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 23 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Hawks' dominance on the glass. Jakob Poeltl and Pascal Siakam added 15 points apiece for Toronto, but the team struggled to contain Young's scoring ability.

'We've all just got to help each other out,' said Raptors forward Scottie Barnes. 'It's a little bit on everybody, especially with those long rebounds after how many threes that they shot.'

The Raptors had been looking to grab offensive rebounds and capitalize on the Hawks' weaknesses, but it didn't materialize. Toronto managed only three offensive boards compared to Atlanta's 16.

'We knew we needed to box out,' said Barnes. 'That was one of our emphases, that they're a good offensive rebounding team.'

Despite the loss, the Raptors remain in contention for a playoff spot, sitting at 10th place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks, on the other hand, have moved up to 10th place after their win.
